In 1969 a group of car enthusiasts in Greenwood, South Carolina decided to meet on a regular basis to discuss restoration of their old cars. They were first recognized as a Chapter. When enough members joined they applied for membership into the National Antique Automobile Club of America as the Emerald City Region. A Certificate of Charter was issued on February 4, 1971.
The Emerald City Region's purpose is to perpetuate the memories of the pioneer days of automobiling by encouraging the preservation and collection of Antique Automobiles.

The Emerald City Region AACA has held an annual Automobile Show since 1971. This annual event allows the club to share a part of automobile history with our local community, a virtual "Walk Back in Time". Other car clubs in the region are encouraged to participate in this event. We welcome cars of any type, from the classics of yesteryear to the muscle cars and hot rods of the 60's and 70's to the newest hot rods of the 80's to present. www.visitgreenwoodsc.com
